Dr. Ryan N. Moran
Dr. Ryan N. Moran, PhD, LAT, ATC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Science at The University of Alabama. Dr. Moran received both his B.S. (2011) and M.S. (2012) degrees in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University. Dr. Moran later received his Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in 2016, with a concentration in Athletic Training. Dr. Moran previously served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, prior to joining The University of Alabama. Dr. Moran serves as an instructor in the CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program, along with conducting research in the Athletic Training Research Lab and for the Integrative Center for Athletic and Sport Technology (I-CAST). His main area of research encompasses epidemiology of sport-related concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), along with neuropsychological, vestibular, and ocular motor impairments in youth and collegiate athletes. His recent work has been featured in The American Journal of Sports Medicine and The Journal of Athletic Training. He is very adamant about educating healthcare professionals, parents, coaches, teachers, and athletes around the community, on the importance of reporting head injuries and the short and long term consequences of concussion and traumatic brain injuries.
